NDE Empowers 169 Women, Unemployed Youth With Skills Equipment in Taraba

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) on Tuesday disbursed skills acquisition equipments and cash to over one hundred and sixty nine women and unemployed youths in Taraba state.
The State Director of NDE in Taraba State, Mr Chris Bamsida while disbursing the empowerment equipments and cash to the beneficiaries in Jalingo, said the disbursement was a collaborative effort to reduce unemployment and empower unemployed youths in the state.
“Today’s event, the empowerment and disbursement ceremony of the 93,731 renewed hope job creation initiative was a testament to the commitment of the federal government of Nigeria to job creation, poverty alleviation, and economic self sufficiency.
The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has remained at the forefront of skills acquisition and entrepreneurship development, ensuring that unemployed youths, women and rural dwellers are equipped with relevant skills that will enable them to be self reliant.
Through this initiative, we are not just providing training, we are creating a pathway for prosperity, dignity and sustainable livelihoods” he said.
He hinted that the disbursement and resettlement go beyond financial support, stressing that the disbursement symbolised hope, empowerment, and the transformation of lives.
“Out of the 978 recruited and documented beneficiaries who have undergone rigorous training in various skills sets , 169 selected received empowerment support both in cash and in kind” he stressed.
He stressed that NDE’s investments in skills development and entrepreneurship was not only to reduce unemployment but also fostering economic growth, enhancing productivity, and strengthening the local communities.
“These empowered individuals will in turn become employers of labour, creating a ripple effect that would benefit families, communities and the state at large ” he added.
On his part, the representative of the beneficiaries, Mr Sunday Francis, thanked the federal government and the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) for the empowerment, adding that the kind gesture has changed their nomenclature from nobody to somebody.
