Muwanshat produces health care professionals – Provost

The Provost, Muwanshat College of Health Science and Technology Jalingo, Abdulmajid Khalid has stated that the College which established Nine (9) years ago, has recorded remarkable milestones in its academic growth.

Khalid who described Muwanshat College of Health Science and Technology, Jalingo as a private, tertiary institution said the institution is saddled with the core mandate of training health workers and professionals for health care delivery services, for the people of Taraba State and beyond.
The Provost who spoke exclusively with our Correspondent in Jalingo the State capital said the College uses the following courses and programmes to train their students who he posited later become professionals in the health sector.
The courses are; Community Health, Pharmacy Technician, Public Health, Micro Biology, Biotechnology, Social Sciences, and Computer Science”, among others.
According to him, the introduction of new degree programmes in Computer Science and Biotechnology stands as a testament to the management’s resolve to align with global trends, scientific innovation and, the digital transformation in shaping modern healthcare and development.
“These programmes position our institution at the intersection of science, technology, and societal needs, preparing graduates who are not only employable but impactful”,

Through improved learning facilities, structured academic guidance, mentorship, and a growing culture of inclusiveness, the College continues to place students at the heart of its policies and priorities”, he said.
The Provost further disclosed that the college’s achievements would be incomplete without acknowledging their investments in staff training and academic advancement. “Our staff have continued to engage in capacity-building programmes, professional training, research activities, and academic collaborations”,
“These intellectual adventures ensure that our students are taught by educators who are not only qualified but current, curious, and committed to lifelong learning. Beyond the walls of the College, Muwanshat remains deeply in community service”,
“Our outreach in health care services, public health sensitization programmes, and practical interventions such as the repair of boreholes and community-based health support initiatives reflect our belief that education must translate into service. We do not train professionals for certificates alone, but for communities, for society, and for humanity”, he added.
“While we commend the Proprietor of the College, Alh. Umaru Yola for the initiative, we also doff our caps for the State Governor Dr Agbu Kefas for peaceful co-existence and the enabling environment without which, the college will not stand”,
“Our affiliation with the management and staff of the Taraba State University (TSU) is not in vain because much has been achieved within a short time of collaboration with the University. The Board Chairman, Dr. Garba Danjuma, hardworking management staff of Muwanshat College, other collaborating agencies like the National and State Primary Health Care Development Agencies, Parents and guardians of our students, I commend all who contributed immensely towards the growth of the college. May Almighty Allah bless you all”, he added.
On the students newly admitted and matriculated, Khalid said, “They should do everything humanly possible to meet up with scope and schedules of their handbook. The dos and don’ts are all stipulated into he students’ handbook. They should shun all forms of examination malpractices, criminal activities and maintain the college’s dressing code”.
