Mid-term: Kefas’ SA on Non Indigenes, Onyekere applauds gov. on Security, others

The Special Assistant (SA) to the Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas on Non Indigenes, Hon. (Lady) Blessing Ben Onyekere, has applauded the governor for performing maximally well on security within his two years in office.

Lady Onyekere, who spoke exclusively with our Correspondent in Jalingo said, before Dr. Kefas came into power in 2023, people couldn’t sleep with their two eyes closed because of high rate of insecurity across the State.
She further told our Correspondent that somebody like her thought of relocating before the emergence of Governor Kefas as the chief security officer of the State.
Other important aspects of Governor Kefas’ laudable achievements she noted were in the areas of peace and unity among various ethnic groups, and religious bodies across the State.
According to her, Muslims and Christians have been coexisting happily, peacefully among themselves since he came on board as the Executive Governor of the State.
“Uniting the people and giving them security is very important in human life which the governor is doing”, she said.
She further lauded the Governor’s magnanimity in the area of education where according to her, the free education he declared really reduced the sufferings of the people of the State.

Another area Kefas’ SA on Non Indigenes made comment on is the issue of her boss’ renovating and remodeling dilapidated edifices of the past administrations.
She expressed dismay over what she described as uncanny attitudes of Nigerians where she said, the person that applauds you for taking up your predecessor’s work, the same person will chastise you for not taking it.
“Remodeling outdated projects in the State, solidifying abandoned projects is what Governor Kefas is doing”,
“He replaces pit toilets with modern toilets (water cistern). When he meets a hospital where equipments are outdated with dilapidated building, he renovates, remodels the building to a modern standard and makes available modern equipments of high repute”
“Let’s take for example, if the Specialist Hospital here in Jalingo does not have CT scan and MRI Scan machines, do you now advise Kefas to abandon the hospital, build another one with modern equipments?”,
“What the Governor is expected to do is to renovate the dilapidated areas of the hospital, provide the machines for the hospital’s management use instead of building a new hospital”,
“Nothing is wrong, taking over the past administration’s abandoned projects with a view to completing them or renovating and remodeling outdated offices”, she stressed.
Noting that government is continuity, Hon SA affirmed that Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is full of First Ladies’ abandoned projects. “No incumbent First Lady wants to complete her predecessor’s abandoned projects”
“I must initiate, execute, complete and commission my own projects which never came but later, remains abandoned”,
Hon. (Lady) Onyekere however, described her duties as SA on Non Indigenes as encompassing, explaining that she is involved in the activities of all non indigenes resident in Jalingo and Taraba State as a whole.
“I have to be involved in their security, welfare, progress and every other aspects of their lives with a view to helping them live comfortably with good tidings that will make their stay in Taraba State meaningful. Assuring all non indigenes to remain law abiding, support the governor to succeed, Hon. Onyechere pledged that better days are coming.
