MEET THE NEW JARMA SHELLENG, CHIEF COMRADE MUSA ABBAS KIRI

Chief Musa Abbas Kiri started his early life from a humble background to a seasoned administrator per excellence in Public service.

He climbed the ladder of success since nostalgic childhood from unionism to Administrative mettle due to his inbuilt traits and aura of intelligencia, tolerance, humility, doggedness, perseverance,team player and enigma of excellence.
He always depicts the cynosure of the public due to his comportment and articulation in public presentations and Labour activities.
In a summary, his life times as being experience in public and Community service translated the saying that it is not how long, but how well with an individual when defining his accomplishments.
Born on 2nd July 1972 ,Chief Musa Abbas Kiri started his preliminary school at the famous L.E.D.Primary School Kachia Kaduna State.
He proceeded to Army Day Secondary school, Chindit Barracks, Depot Nigerian Army Zaria,Kaduna.
His first learning experience and interaction with his peers in a military environment exposed him to a fearless and cosmopolitan life.
After his secondary school in Kaduna State, Musa Abbas Kiri came back to Adamawa state Polytechnic Yola for his Internal Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) Examination and quickly gained admission into University of Maiduguri, Borno State for his B.Sc.in Public Administration.
He proceeded to M A U for his M.A. in Peace and Conflict Studies and now pursuing his PhD.
During Musa Abbas Kiri’s academic adventure, he was so active in students unionism, a struggle he propelled upto public service where he was quickly elected State Chairman, Senior Staff Association of Statutory Corporations and Government Owned Companies, Adamawa state in 2012.
State Vice-chairman,Trade Union Congress (TUC) Adamawa state from 2005-2007 and elevated to State Chairman, Trade Union Congress in 2007-2015.
National Vice President, Senior Staff Association of Statutory Corporation and Government Owned Companies,2014-2018.
Comrade Musa Abbas Kiri is a member of different Professional bodies that earned various Awards and accolades.
He is a Fellow, Chartered Institute of Administration, Fellow, Institute of Industrialists and Corporate Administration, fellow institute of corporate administrators ,Certified and Licensed Management fellow institute of business diplomacy and financial management.
Comrade M.A Kiri has authored several research works which include
Inequalities in the Field of information Exchange and the Third World Media, A case study of News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).(2000).
Issues Based Voter Education and its role in the conduct of 2007 general election in Adamawa state.(2007),
Assessment on the activities of Hunters in countering Boko Haram insurgency in Adamawa state (2002).
These feat in acquiring knowledge has been moulding Chief Abbas Musa Kiri in public service particularly at the managerial levels.
He served as Secretary Adamawa State Water Board 2013-2018.
Director Administration, Adamawa state Pension Board 2018-202.
Director Administration, Ministry for Local Government Affairs, February 2022-June 2025.
Permanent Secretary, Establishment and Training,June -December 2023 and deployed as Permanent Secretary,. Ministry for Local Government Affairs on 12th December 2023 by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri,v(Fresh Air Governor) to enhance efficiency, prudence and administration in running Local Government Administration in Adamawa state.
The impact of his capacity as permanent Secretary in the ministry has been unprecedented due to his social disposition.
He expanded the frontiers of relationships both within and outside the government circle.
He is happily married and blessed with children.
