Manchester United Guns Down Arsenal At The Emirates Stadium As Bayern Munich Test Defeat For The First Time

By Tanko Bauka

To say Manchester United are back would be an understatement because they are back and you better start to believe it because the recent performance by the Red devils points to that fact as the new look Michael Carrick rejuvenated Manchester United are producing wonderful results in the league and the latest is against the league leader Arsenal at the Emirates stadium in London to punish the Gunners and condemned them to their third loss of the season and open up the gap for the teams lurking behind to close in and hope to bounce whenever the Mikel Arteta boys fumble.

Arsenal came into this match four points and looking to go back to seven points lead on top of the league log and they started the encounter brightly dictating the pace of the game as they were in total control and deservedly took the lead in the 29 minutes of the first half through an own goal by Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez during a goal mouth scramble but defensive error by Martin Zubimendi gifted Manchester United an opportunity to restored scores as the midfield maestro back pass to David Raya in goal for the Gunners but was intercepted by Bryan Mbeumo and from that moment Manchester United came into the game and Patrick Dorgu gave the visitors the lead in the 37 minutes but Arsenal fought back and Mikel Moreno pegged them back in the 84 minutes and the match seems to be heading to a a draw when Matheus Cunha popped up to score the winner and you can called it stunner or screamer or cracker you won’t be wrong, to hand over all the three points to Manchester United and they can now start to dream again as they are into the top four on 38 points though Arsenal still on 50 points.

Every year in and year out Arsenal always shows flashes of winning the league and will start very well given their faithful supporters the hope of winning the league but bugle it at a very critical stage and hand over the title to their rival.

Indications have started to point to the Arsenal of yesterday which started very well and finished up poorly unless this set of players proves they are different but recent performance is tilting towards the Arsenal usual trademark as the Arteta boys since that 4-1 against Aston Villa they have not won any matches as they played out a goalless draw against Nottingham forest and beaten by Manchester United though they won in the Carabao Cup against Chelsea, Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League and FA Cup against Potsmouth.

Arsenal still has time to convince the football world that they have put behind their previous year’s usual trademark as they are presently four points ahead and are fully prepared for the remaining task in front of them if truly they are to win the league or any trophies this season and the right time to get started is now to redeem themselves as Manchester City, Aston villa and Manchester United Chelsea as well as Liverpool are all breathing down their neck.

Manchester city had earlier took the advantage of playing before Arsenal match to reduced the seven points gap at the top of the English Barclays Premier League to four after defeating relegation threatened Wolves at the Etihad stadium and it’s was Umar Marmoush and Antoine Semenyo who were on the score sheet to hand over the Pep Guardiola boys all the three points to continue their rebuilding process and put more pressure on the the league leader Arsenal.

Manchester City have found themselves on the wrong side of the season when they played three draws in a row and lost to their bitter rival Manchester United before making up against Wolves to come back to the fray.

The defending Champion, Liverpool were taught a bitter lesson by AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium as the Arne Slot team lost 3-2 and the winning goal was scored with the last kick of the encounter. Chelsea beat their normal nemesis Crystal palace 3-1 at Selhurst Park stadium to continue Liam Rosenior’s fine reign as the new head coach of the Blues.

Aston Villa survived Newcastle United’s scare and came out on top beating Eddie Howe’s boys 2-0 to hand Unai Emery his first win in the Tyneside for years.

The relegation-threatened side Nottingham Forest and West Ham United won against higher-flying Sunderland and Brentford did themselves a great favour to boost their chances of survival while Burnley could only manage a two-all draw against Tottenham Hotspur at Turf Moor as Fulham defeated Brighton coming from behind to win 2-1 at Craven Cottage in London.

In the Spanish La Liga Real Madrid are or have started showing signs of greatness again following the appointment of Alvaro Albeloa as the head coach after the outright dismissal of the former head coach Xabi Alonso, the Bernabeu landlords have won two games comfortably scoring a total of two goals per game and the league’s top scorer Kylian Mbappe is on 21 goals already.

Real Madrid silenced Villarreal in the yellow submarine stadium Villarreal home ground to briefly climb to the top of the league table but the defending Champions and the league leader FC Barcelona have returned to the top of the league log all thanks to a 3-0 thrashing of Real Oviedo while Sevilla thumped Athletic Bilbao 2-1, and Atletico Madrid beat Real Mallorca 3-0.

In the German Bundesliga, the firepower of league pacesetter Bayern Munich were unable to work as they fired blanks, and the Vincent Kompany boys lost for the first time in 19 domestic league games and once in the UEFA Champions League group phase to the pacesetter Arsenal.

Bayern Munich were runners up last football season,2024-2025 behind Bayer Leverkusen which go throughout the the whole season without losing a single match though includes draws under Xabi Alonso who moved on to Real Madrid but later sacked and this season seems they will follow in Bayer Leverkusen step but FC Augsburg has become a spoilers beating Bayern Munich in Alliance Arena Bayern Munich home ground 2-1 while Bayer Leverkusen won 1-0 against Werder Bremen, Heidenhain lost 3-0 to RB Leipzig and Mainz 05 defeated Wolfsburg with Eintrach Frankfurt losing 3-1 to Hoffenheim.
