Manchester United Faces Manchester City

By Tanko Bauka

Ruben Amorim and his Manchester United team, who are having a turbulent time in the English Barclay Premier League, would have yet another Herculean task ahead of them as they travel to face another monster in the form of Manchester City on Sunday.

Manchester United would be going into this match knowing fully that their arch-rival and noisy neighbours, Manchester City, are also having the worst time of their lives, and there is no better time to engage them than now.

Ruben Amorim has beaten Pep Guardiola’s boys with Sporting CP in the UEFA Champions League, and that will give him a clue on how to inflict more pains on Manchester City, which has managed just one win in their last 10 games, losing seven games during that run.

But never write Manchester City off anything just yet because Pep Guardiola boys are capable of springing a surprise looking at what they have done in recent years.

Liverpool FC will be at home to welcome Fulham, which held Arsenal FC to a one-all draw in the week 15 encounter played at the Craven Cottage stadium, while Liverpool’s match with their Merseyside neighbours Everton was postponed due to severe weather conditions caused by Storm Darragh.

Arsenal FC will be seeking to avoid the slip against Fulham as they welcome Everton to the Emirate stadium, while Nottingham Forest will entertain Aston Villa as Chelsea host Brentford at Stamford Bridge.

In the Spanish LA Liga, Real Madrid will be boasting of the return of their talisman, who registered goals upon his return against Atalanta on Tuesday in the UEFA Champions League clash, as well as Rodrigo, who came in as a replacement for an injured Kylian Mbappe in the Champions League match.

Real Madrid travel to take on Rayo Vallacano, Atletico Madrid engage Getafe, while FC Barcelona would like to replicate their impressive run against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday as they welcome Laganes.

Deportivo Alaves host Athletic Bilbao while Villarreal ambush Real Betis for the three points at stake.

In the Italian Serie A, table-topping Atalanta will be away to Cagliari as well as Napoli, which will also be on the road to engage Udinese for the three points.

Juventus will be at home to welcome Venezia even as AC Milan host Genoa at San Siro stadium, while the top clash of the Serie A will be played on Monday as Lazio host Inter Milan.

In the German Bundesliga, Mainz 05 host Bayern Munich, Bayern Leverkusen will be away to FC Augsburg as Borussia Dortmund lock horns with Hoffenheim, and RB Leipzig host high-flying Eintracht Frankfurt.
