LG Autonomy: Gov Kefas Constitutes Advisory Committee

The Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas has approved the constitution of a Committee to advise the Government on the full implementation of the Local Government autonomy in Taraba State pursuant to the recent judgement of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

This is contained in a Press Release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Yusuf Sanda on Saturday in Jalingo, the State Capital.
The Committee is to be chaired by Rt Hon. Abel Peter Diah, Member Representing Mbamnga State Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Traditional Affairs.
Other members of the Committee are Chief Gebon Timothy Kataps, Secretary to the Government of Taraba State, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Yakubu Maikasuwa SAN and Alhaji Hassan Aminu, ALGON Chairman,
Others includes Mrs Lilian Jonathan, Director Inspectorate, Bureau for Local Government, Traditions and Chieftaincy Affairs and Mr. Bala Hussein while Mr. Ezekiel Polycarp is to serving as the Member/Secretary.
The release adds that the committee will be inaugurated on Monday, 15th July 2024 by 10 O’clock in the morning at the EXCO Chambers, Government House, Jalingo.
