LCCN No.4 SABON-PEGI YOLA TOWN OFFERS THANKSGIVING AMIDST CHALLENGES, EMPHASIZES GRATITUDE

A prominent journalist in Adamawa State, Comrade Fidelis Jockthan, has underscored the paramount importance of expressing gratitude to God, not only for abundant blessings but for the very gift of life itself.
Jockthan made the statement while chairing the 2025 Harvest and Thanksgiving service of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN) No. 4, Sabon-Pegi, Shagari-Yola.
The event was organized to show appreciation to God for a bumper harvest and divine blessings throughout the year.
Standing in for his elder brother, Mr. Charles Jockthan, Comrade Jockthan began his remarks by commiserating with the church and the entire Sabon-Pegi community over the recent devastating floods.
The disaster claimed lives and destroyed numerous buildings and properties, including parts of the church’s structures.
He praised the church’s leadership under its Resident Pastor, Reverend Phenuel Dallatu, for fostering the spiritual rejuvenation of its members.
Jockthan added that the Thanksgiving service marked a significant milestone in the continuous expansion of God’s vineyard.
In his sermon to mark the harvest, Reverend Phenuel Dallatu emphasized that the regular practice of gratitude invariably attracts more divine blessings.
Taking his text from the book of Lamentations, Chapter 3, the cleric stressed that showing thanksgiving is a fundamental duty of the church.
The Resident Pastor also offered prayers for the safety of the congregation and the entire people of Adamawa State as the yuletide season approaches.
The Thanksgiving service featured inspirational songs rendered by various church groups.
It also witnessed a solemn presentation of tithes and offerings, as farmers and traders within the congregation brought forth a portion of their bumper harvest, in accordance with biblical injunctions.
