Speaking to journalists at the event, the monarch said the WASA promotes mutual understanding among the Army, other security agencies and civilians, noting that the involvement of traditional rulers has strengthened cordial civil-military relations.

He said the initiative should be sustained, as it fosters unity within the nation’s security architecture and builds trust between soldiers and the civilian population.

As the country enters the new year, the Lamdo urged the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to continue working together to maintain peace, law and order, stressing the need for professionalism in safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity.

He also called on residents of his domain and Taraba State to remain prayerful amid ongoing security challenges, urging collective efforts and religious harmony to address insecurity.

The Lamdo encouraged the organizers of the WASA to maintain the annual tradition and called on other security agencies to emulate the Nigerian Army by organizing similar activities.

Addressing journalists, the traditional ruler urged the media to uphold factual and responsible reporting.

Quoting former Minister of Information, Tony Momoh, he said the media must promote and sustain the system in which it operates, warning against the spread of unverified information.
