Karim Crisis: Taraba CP Vows to Bring Perpetrators to Justice

The Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Simon, has assured that the full weight of the security apparatus will be deployed to track and apprehend those responsible for the recent Bandawa-Fulani-Munga Dosso crisis in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of the state.
Addressing the warring parties in Karim, the administrative headquarters of the LGA, CP Simon — represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Umar Shehu Didango — emphasized that the Police have taken adequate measures to identify and bring the perpetrators to justice.
He stated that law breakers who continue to destabilize the community will face the consequences of their actions.
CP Simon appealed to residents to collaborate with law enforcement agents by providing credible information that will aid investigations.
He stressed that effective policing is a collective responsibility and urged the people to support efforts to restore peace in the area.
Briefing the community on the purpose of the visit, CP Simon said the Police Command was in Karim to assess the situation firsthand and to commiserate with families who lost loved ones during the crisis.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Police to deal decisively with anyone found guilty of committing heinous crimes to serve as a deterrent to others.
He also issued a stern warning against individuals taking the law into their own hands, assuring the public that the Police are implementing measures to protect lives and property.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Karim Lamido Local Government Council, Hon. Bitrus Danjos, expressed deep concern over the persistent crises affecting the area, ranging from tribal and communal clashes to banditry.
He called on the warring factions to sheath their swords in the interest of lasting peace and stability in the local government area.
