Karim Crisis: Assembly Member Cautions Against Breach of Peace

People of Karim 2 Constituency in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State have been warned against anything that will destabilize the existing peace among the people of the area.

Member Representing Karim 2 Constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon Anas Shuaibu Didango gave the warning while addressing people of Andamin ward of the constituency following the reported case of cattle rustling.
The Member and his entourage visited Andamin and met with Village Heads, Youth leaders, politicians and religious leaders.
He stressed that peace is paramount for harmonious living, appealing to the people to safe guard the existing peace for the overall development of the area.
Hon Didango therefore cautioned the people of Andamin against cattle rustling, banditry and other forms of criminalities that will cause restlessness in their communities.
The law maker noted that Government is fully aware of all the happenings in the community and warned that anybody caught breaching the peace or engaging in any crime will face the full wrath of the law
He announced the suspension of market activities in Mashigin kiriya village of Andamin Ward which shared a border with Plateau state as part of measures to enhance peace in the area.
In his remarks, Captain A Y Jarma of the Nigeria Army, called on the people of the area to report any suspicious movement to security agencies for prompt and necessary action.
He said security is every body’s business, adding that officers and Men of the army were posted to the area to maintain peace and protect lives and property of the people of the area.
Captain Jarma warned those supplying food and other needs to bandits in their hideouts to desist, noting that the government will not fold its arms and allow criminals to be killing innocent people and destroying properties.
Some of the residents who spoke during the meeting applauded the member, Hon Anas Shuaibu Didango for standing with the people of the constituency, describing the closure of Mashigin Kiriya market as the best decision.
