Jalingo Catholic Bishop Confirms 103, blessed 4 Marriages at St.Thomas Chaplaincy

The Catholic Bishop of Jalingo Diocese, Most Rev Charles Michael Hammawa has Confirmed over one hundred and three (103) candidates with the Sacrament of Confirmation at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Chaplaincy, Taraba State University, Jalingo.
Similarly, the Bishop blessed four(4 ) marriages with the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony.
Bishop Charles administered these Sacraments during his Pastoral Visit to the Chaplaincy on Sunday 22nd January,2025.
In his Homily, the Bishop, charged Christians to profess and to live up the Catholic Faith truly adding that, what they received during the Mass was/is the real Body and Blood of Jesus Christ present in the Species.
He stressed that while the body needs water and food for its nourishment, the Soul needs the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ for it’s Spiritual growth.
He however urged those who received the Sacrament of Confirmation to always keep the light of Christ in their lives burning through their actions and words and to represent Christ truly by defending the faith as His soldiers.
In the same vein, he charged the newly wedded Couples to always persevere in whatever difficulty that may come their way, adding that,they should always keep the spark.
In his vote of thanks, the Church Chairman, Mr. Linus William on behalf of the Council, appreciated the Bishop for his visit, saying his Pastoral Visit has brought immense blessings to the Chaplaincy community.
He equally appreciated him for administering the Sacrament of confirmation and Holy Matrimony to members of the Chaplaincy.
The visit coincided with the Solemnity of Corpus Christi and the Holy Mass was celebrated by His Lordship Most Rev Charles Hammawa who was flanked by the Vicar Administration of Jalingo Diocese and Chaplain of St. Thomas Aquinas Chaplaincy, Very Rev Fr Dr Williams Awoshiri including, Rev Fr Jesse Randakwa who is the Parish Priest of St Peter’s Nukkai
Highlights of the visit included presentation of gifts to the Bishop, presentation of awards/certificates to deserving members of the Chaplaincy in recognition to their services to the Chaplaincy Community and cutting of the wedding cake among others.
