Hon. Shuaibu Anas Didango, lawmaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, representing Karim II Constituency of Karim Lamido Local Government Area of the State has pleaded with Governor Agbu Kefas to create a Police Mobile Base in the area.
The Lawmaker, who made the plead this Tuesday during plenary with his colleagues at the hallowed chambers of the State Assembly in Jalingo said with the presence of a Police Mobile Base in area, the high rate of insecurity would be drastically reduced.
He explained that there will be quick response by the Police incase there arises a security situation in any part of the local government.
He added that the plead was imperative considering the high rate of insecurity bedeviling the people of the area in recent times.
Anas Didango said he was poised to add to the prayers of urgent public importance raised at the floor of the House by his colleague, Hon. Mike Dio Jen of Karim I Constituency who called on the state government to beef up security to protect the lives and property of the people.
The lawmaker further lauded the efforts of the State government and the security agencies for what he described as their untiring efforts towards curtailing the challenges posed by insecurity in the area.
Previously, the legislator explained that there used to be serious security issues at the border areas of the local government area but presently no issue has been noticed.
He disclosed that Karim Lamido as a local government area in Taraba State shares border with four (4) states of Adamawa, Gombe, Bauchi and Plateau.
“Where we have issues of insecurity is within the hub of our local government which is in Karim ‘B’ ie Usmanu”,
“So, when I looked at the matter of public urgent importance raised by my colleague, I decided to support him with more prayers, calling on the state governor Dr. Agbu Kefas to create a Mobile Police Base in a village called Dinya of Kwanchi community in the local government area”.
“If there is a Mobile Police Base in such an area, there will always be a quick response by the Police officers each time there arises security issues in the area”, he said.
Our Correspondent gathered that Hon. (Dr) Mike Dio Jen of Karim I Constituency today, sponsored a bill under matters of public urgent importance, urging the Lawmakers to to ask the State governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas to beef up security in his Constituency at Karim.
Dr Dio said the call was owing to an unfortunate incident where unknown gunmen killed a traditional ruler in his Palace and five years later, they also killed his younger brother.
It was as a result of the above premise that Hon. Shuaibu Anas Didango of Karim II added to the prayer by calling on the Governor to create a Police Mobile Base in the area.
