Hardship: Vandals remove electric cables, 35 inches flat screen TV from Taraba Poly

As the hardship in the country continue to bite harder, vandals over the weekend invaded the Jalingo campus of the Taraba state Polytechnic administrative block and stole electric cables and 35 inches flat screen Television.

Some staff of the institution who spoke to journalists in Jalingo lamented that the vandals carted away valuables worth thousands naira.
A staff of the polytechnic who is the Director of works and physical planning, Dr Samuel R. Ishaya said the incident that happened at the administrative block of the polytechnic from Friday to Monday was a very bad one.
He hinted that unidentified vandals made their way through the window of the one storey building and entered the ceiling of the administrative block and removed some electrical cables which has thrown the administrative block into total blackout.
“The incident was a very bad one, the securities were on duty and vandals made their way into the building and stole the cables in the building” he said.
Dr Ishaya who denied reports that billions of naira TETFUND facilities were destroyed by the vandals maintained that only electrical cables, 35 inches flat screen Television in the cashiers office were removed.
“What they stole was a 35 flat screen inches TV in the cashiers office and the wires that were removed” he added.
He noted that rumours that twenty five million was stolen from the cashiers office was a handwork of mischief makers.
According to him, the institution has no even one million on its own talk less of leaving twenty five million naira in the cashiers office.
He added that the management of the polytechnic has reported the case to Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDSC, the police and the department of the State Security Service, DSS and investigation was ongoing.
He urged Governor Agbu Kefas to as a matter of urgency come to their aide to enable the institution get out of its present situation.
