HAMA BACHAMA INSTALLS FULANI PEACE AMBASSADOR FOR INTER-ETHNIC HARMONY

In a significant move to reinvigorate peace-building and foster harmonious co-existence, the Paramount Ruler of the Bachama Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Daniel Shagah Ismail, CON,(Kpawo Nomwe,Gilongo Diya) has turbaned Mallam Musa Yakubu as the Wakilin Fulani (Fulani Peace Ambassador) for the kingdom.

The investiture ceremony, held in Numan, the administrative headquarters of the kingdom, attracted a broad spectrum of stakeholders.
It witnessed the convergence of all District Heads from the Bachama and Batta Kingdoms, alongside prominent Fulani leaders under the auspices of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore , a socio-cultural Fulani movement.
Delegations from Gombe, Bauchi, and Taraba States were present, including the movement’s National President, Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Bodejo.
While turbaning the new ambassador, Kpana Rigangun, Andy Kyara, the Representative of the Hama Bachama, charged Mallam Musa Yakubu to propel peace by mobilizing the Fulani community within and around Numan for peaceful and harmonious coexistence.

The Hama Bachama, through his representative, underscored the agrarian and riverine nature of Numan as a confluence town that naturally attracts various groups, including Fulani herders, for grazing and agriculture.
While reiterating the kingdom’s zero-tolerance for any breach of law and order, he affirmed that the chiefdom offers equal leverage to all tribes to “stay, graze, cultivate farms, trade, and worship just like any Bachama man.”
The event garnered strong support from political representatives.
Kwamoti Laori, Member representing Numan, Lamurde, and Demsa Federal Constituency, described the appointee as a peace-loving man.
He affirmed the chiefdom’s long-standing history of mutual coexistence with the Fulani.
Laori announced plans to organize a training program starting next week on peaceful coexistence and conflict resolution to further cement relationships within the chiefdom.
Echoing this sentiment, Chief Mrs. Olvady Bema Zakari, the Federal Commissioner representing Adamawa State at the Federal Character Commission in Abuja, highlighted the deep-rooted ties between the Bwatiye (Bachama) people and the Fulani.
She pointed to shared economic activities like farming, fishing, and cattle breeding around riverine regions as the historical bond between them.
She also used the occasion to extend her gratitude to the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and former Governor Murtala Nyako for their roles in her political career.

Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore represented by the Northeast Chairman, Alhaji Nasiru Liman Jalbu, praised the appointment of their “loyal and peace-loving member.”
He called for mutual respect and understanding, pledging to work to propel peace not only among the Fulani but across the entire Bachama Kingdom.
Goodwill messages also poured in from other traditional leaders, including a delegation led by the District Head of Yamaltu-Deba from Gombe State.
This strategic installation is widely seen as a proactive measure to institutionalize dialogue and conflict resolution mechanisms between the farming communities of the Bachama Kingdom and the pastoralist Fulani groups.
It aims to build on historical ties and address contemporary challenges through a recognized representative structure, with strong backing from both traditional and political authorities.
