Gov Kefas Hosts Northeast Govs To a Gala Night

The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, on Thursday evening hosted a gala night in honour of his colleagues from the North East sub-region at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Jalingo.

The event was organised to warmly welcome the visiting governors ahead of the North East Governors’ Forum (NEGF) meeting scheduled to hold this Saturday in the Taraba State capital.


Speaking at the occasion, Governor Kefas expressed delight in hosting his counterparts, stressing the importance of unity, cooperation, and strong interpersonal relationships among leaders.

He emphasized that human connections must precede policies and programmes, noting that collaborative leadership is the driving force behind sustainable development in the region.


“The collective vision and shared commitment of the North East will continue to inspire growth and prosperity for our people,” Kefas said.


In his remarks, Chairman of the North East Governors’ Forum and Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, commended Governor Kefas for the warm hospitality extended to the delegation.

He highlighted the forum’s steadfastness in addressing insecurity, tackling poverty, promoting unity, and driving economic diversification and job creation across the North East.

The gala night also featured a colourful display of the region’s rich cultural heritage, with vibrant performances showcasing the diversity and beauty of the North East.
