The Chairman of Chairman of Bali Local Government Council, Hon Aboki Dauda has newly appointed Chief of Staff, Supervisory Councillors and Special Advisers to serve the people with the fear of God.

He was speaking on Tuesday while swearing-in the local government Chief of Staff,12 Special Advisers and 7 supervisory Councillors at the Bali Local Government Secretariat at a colourful ceremony graced by friends, family members and well wishers of those sworn in.

Hon Aboki Dauda tasked the appointees to see their elevation as a rare privileged and an opportunity to contribute positively to the rapid development of the local government area, adding that the task ahead of them is huge, advising them to seek the help and support of the people to succeed.

He informed them that with their appointments, they are now servants to the people who will hold them accountable for their actions and activities while in office, describing their appointments as well deserved as they were chosen based on their track records.


He said they are men and women of proven integrity, saying he is optimistic they will contribute positively to his administration as he seeks to bring developmental projects that will have direct bearing on the lives of the people.

Hon Aboki Dauda said gone are the days when people see appointments as an avenue to enrich themselves thereby contributing to the failure of government good intentions, warning that their actions and activities would be put under serious scrutiny and those found wanting would be shown the exit door.

 

Hon Aboki Dauda said the Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas has created a level playing ground for good governance to thrive, saying they don’t have any excuse not to succeed in the provision of basic things of lives that will improve the living standard of the people.


He charged those sworn in to redouble their efforts looking at the security challenges staring them in the face, saying the people expect much from them, advising them to embrace all irrespective of religion, ethnicity or political affiliation.

He solicited for the support and mutual understanding of the people as they intensify actions on how to ameliorate some of the hardships bedeviling them especially insecurity, banditry attacks and farmers-headers crisis, assuring that the state Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas in adopting proactive measures to rid the area of criminality.

Responding, some of the new appointees thanked God for their elevation, given assurances that they will do everything to bringing their wealth of experience to bear to help move the local government and the state to greater height.

According to them, they cannot do it alone except with the support and cooperation of the people, calling on the people to join hands with them to come up with workable solutions that will help the council Chairman to work for their benefit.

 

One significant highlight of the swearing in was the appointment of a blind man among the appointees.

Traditional dances from various ethnic groups in the area added colour to the occasion.
