Give us audience for interaction: Taraba IDP begs Gov Kefas

The Internally Displaced Persons IDPs of Tiv extraction in Wukari LGA of Taraba State, taking refuge in Benue State, have appealed to governor Agbu Kefas to create a few minutes of his time to enable them have a direct interaction.

Hon. Peter Achibo, leader of the Displaced Persons made the appeal during a phone conversation on Thursday.
Achibo explained that an interaction with the governor will enable him understand what the displaced persons are currently going through in the camps, and the need to be returned home.
He lamented that the continues stay of the Displaced Persons in IDP camps with no access to social amenities like school and healthcare, is affecting the people especially children psychologically about crisis.
The IDP leader said, allowing the displaced indigent children grow without inter-social connection to see life different from what they believe in the camps, may encourage ethnic hatred and continue disunity , which a progressive minded society arrived to prevents.
“Crisis have come and gone, what we need now is reconciliation to pave the way for a permanent peace. We wish to seek for the governor’s few minutes for a direct conversation.
“We want to let him understand why there is need to let us return to our ancestral homes in Wukari and leave a normal life. We want the governor to understand that we are his people, whom crisis have displaced and are leaving like wild animals.
“Life at IDP camp is as that of wld animals. An interaction with the governor will enable him understand why his displaced Tiv people of Wukari are crying to return home.
“We know that crisis benefits no party, and we believe there is no better time than now to make amend for peace. We are ready to accept dialogue for a positive peace that would attract development to Wukari LGA”. The IDP leader called.
