In a major pre-election mobilization effort, the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Adamawa State Chapter, has urged workers in Ganye Local Government Area of Adamawa state to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Barrister Mohammed Buba Joda, in Saturday’s House of Assembly by-election.

The call was made by the Vice President General of NULGE, National Headquarters, who is also the Adamawa State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC), Comrade Emmanuel Fashe.

He led a delegation of NULGE officials to the office of the Ganye Local Government Chairman, Farouk Mohammed, to solidify support for the PDP candidate.

Represented by the Adamawa State President of NULGE, Comrade Stephen Agongtara, Fashe described the meeting as a strategic move by organized labour to influence the high-stakes in the area Ganye constituency race.

Agongtara emphasized the PDP’s pro-worker policies under Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, citing timely payment of salaries and improved welfare packages as key achievements.

He declared the Fintiri-led administration as the “workers’ greatest ally,” stating that a vote for the PDP on Saturday would ensure the continuity of dignity and development in the state.

In his response, Ganye Local Government Chairman, Farouk Mohammed welcomed NULGE’s endorsement, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and respect for labour unions.

Farouk described the election as pivotal to sustaining Governor Fintiri’s infrastructure and environmental initiatives in the state.

The by-election, scheduled for Saturday, is expected to be a tight contest, with labour’s endorsement potentially boosting the PDP’s chances in the race.
