GANYE BY-ELECTION: CHIEF CALEB JOINS GOV. FINTIRI TO RECLAIM MANDATE

Chief Caleb Andrew Myebangara JP, FCA (Shettiman Batta), on Saturday, led his high-powered mobilization team, “CAM,” to support Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s bid to secure the Ganye Constituency seat in the August 16 2025 by-election.
Upon arrival, Chief Caleb was greeted by a rousing welcome, with a convoy of campaign vehicles and enthusiastic supporters lining the streets.
His billboards, prominently featuring Governor Fintiri, were already erected across the constituency, while Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters waved placards inscribed with “ADAMAWA SAI FINTIRI” and “CALEB DAN AMANA 2027.”
The governorship hopeful who was visibly elated, exchanged warm greetings with Governor Fintiri (CON) and other PDP stalwarts, signaling a united front to reclaim the seat from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in what is expected to be a fiercely contested election.
Ganye, a predominantly agrarian town, buzzed with political activity as early as 8:00 AM, with PDP supporters thronging the town’s entrance to welcome Governor Fintiri.
During the campaign flag-off, Governor Fintiri urged party loyalists to intensify door-to-door and ward-to-ward mobilization to ensure victory for the PDP in the August 16 poll, which will be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The Ganye Constituency seat became vacant following the death of Hon. Malik Jauro on July 24, 2024.
The late lawmaker, elected in 2023 under the APC, will be succeeded through the upcoming bye-election.
The PDP has fielded Barrister Buba Muhammed Joda as its candidate, while the APC has nominated Alhaji Misa Jauro, elder brother to the deceased lawmaker, Mr. Benjamin Brandford, a former United Nations official, is running under the Labour Party banner.
The stage is set for a high-stakes political showdown as parties vie for the pivotal seat.
