By Henry Agbu
Taraba State Commissioner of Education, Dr Augustina Godwin says the free education policy of Governor Agbu kefas has come to stay.
The Commissioner stated this when she visited Salihu Dogo Government Secondary School and Kofai Government Secondary school to ascertain the number of Students who did not write NECO and WAEC Examinations.
Dr Augustina Godwin said many students were denied the right to write WAEC and NECO Exams, saying the Governor Agbu Kefas led Administration will not condone such act of sabotage of the policy from any school management.
She categorically stressed that those involved in the unwholesome act will not go unpunished.
She said as a mother, she would continue to fight for the rights of the students.
The Education Commissioner encouraged the Acting Principals to ensure that the right thing is done and told the students to be patient as government will ensure they write the exams next year.
On his part, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Idris Goje said the reason for the visit was to get the accurate number of students who did not write this year’s NECO and WAEC Examinations.
Some of the students who spoke to our reporter said they started school from primary school and wondered why their names were not captured and called on government to do the needful.
