Fr. Williams Awoshiri emerges Taraba CAN Chairman

Very Rev Fr Dr. Williams P. Awoshiri of the Catholic Bloc of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Taraba State has emerged Chairman in the just concluded elections that took place at the CAN Secretariat Jalingo, the Taraba State Capital.
Others elected include;Vice Chairman, Rev Samuel Ibrahim Jatau, Rev Dr Nelson Dinah as the Secretary, Rev Samaila Tsapta Asst Secretary, and Apostle Adetiba, Treasurer, respectively.
Earlier in his welcome remarks, the Special Adviser to Governor Agbu Kefas on Religious Matters, Very Rev Fr Patrick Sunday Muke charged all Christians to be united for the progress of the Christendom and to harmonize their differences into palpable and easy to adopt religion for all.
Also speaking during the event, Rev Dr Mrs. Uzoaku Williams who represented the CAN National Chairman,urged both the outgoing and incoming officials to work closely to achieve the Association’s goals.
In his acceptance speech, the incoming Chairman of CAN Taraba State Chapter, Very Rev Fr Dr. Williams P. Awoshiri commended the past officials for a job well done.
He further thanked God for giving him victory while, appreciation all delegates and the entire Taraba CAN family for finding him worthy to serve.

Fr Awoshiri reiterated his commitment to proclaiming and deepening the word of God in the lives of Christians in the State and beyond.
However, he urged all Christians not to remain adamant but to accept and work with the new officials to move Taraba CAN forward.
Recall that, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Williams P Awoshiri is the current Vicar of the Catholic Diocese of Jalingo and as well, the Chaplain, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Chaplaincy, Taraba State University Jalingo.
