Former Taraba Assembly Clerk Appreciates God for 38 Years of Service

The immediate past Clerk of the Taraba House of Assembly, Chief Orngu Mellah, on Sunday returned to God to show appreciation for the 38 years of successful service to the state.
The event was a Thanksgiving Service held at the NKST Church, Mayo-dassa in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.
Recalling his 35 years of active service and 3 years as a contract staff with the Taraba State House of Assembly, the former Clerk described the 38 years as not only eventful but also fulfilling.
Chief Mella expressed gratitude to God for guidance, provision and protection throughout the service years and successful retirement.
While thanking the Speaker, Rt Hon John Kizito Bozena and former speakers for their support during the service years, he equally thanked his family and friends for their prayers and understanding.
In a sermon, Rev Othaniel Amah encouraged believers to always live a life of service to God and humanity.
Speaking in an interview with newsman shortly after the Thanksgiving Service, Chief Orngu Mella commended the Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas for his efforts to transform the state.
Chief Mellah, particularly lauded the Governor for his policies on free education, agriculture, healthcare, tourism, and infrastructural development.
According to him, the free education policy would no doubt place Taraba State on global scale in the near future.
The former Clerk expressed optimism that the next three years under the Kefas’ leadership would be more eventful given the foundation he has already laid for the state.
“This is the first time Taraba has had a Governor who understands the workings of government and hit the ground running on day one.
“With the foundation the governor has laid in year one, we should expect more. He has a vision for the development of the state, and I am sure the coming years will be action-packed,”.
The Thanksgiving Service attracted several personalities including the Chief of Staff Government House Administration, Dr. Jeji Williams, Dr. Philip Duwe, the Chairman of the Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission, and the immediate past Speaker of the State Assembly, Prof. Joseph Kunini, among others.
