FMC Jalingo MD Commends Army Social Event, Assures Taraba Residents of Continued Healthcare Services

The Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jalingo, Dr. Aisha Shehu Adamu, has described the West African Social Activities, WASA organised by the Nigerian Army as a valuable annual event that promotes relaxation, unity and morale among officers and their families.

Dr. Adamu, who attended the event, said she had witnessed similar activities in the past and was pleased to be present once again.
She explained that the programme is designed as a social gathering where members of the Armed Forces, alongside their families and friends, can unwind from the demands of national service.
According to her, the event reflects the human side of military life and offers an opportunity to appreciate the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces in safeguarding the country.
She noted that, as a friend of the military, she joined the celebration to rejoice with them, share moments of laughter and show support as a spectator.
She also wished the officers and their families continued success in their duties.
Commenting on the recent visit of the Taraba State Governor to FMC Jalingo, Dr. Adamu addressed concerns about possible pressure on the hospital following discussions on relocating some patients from the Specialist Hospital, Jalingo.
She confirmed that adequate arrangements were already underway to manage the situation.
She disclosed that the Governor had been proactive in addressing the issue, adding that a committee had been set up to work out practical solutions to close any service gaps.
The aim, she said, is to ensure that residents of Taraba State are not negatively affected and continue to receive quality healthcare, especially where the Specialist Hospital may be limited in capacity.
Dr. Adamu reassured the public of FMC Jalingo’s commitment to supporting the state’s healthcare system.
As a key stakeholder in the health sector, she wished the people of Taraba State a healthy new year and urged residents to always reach out to the hospital whenever they have health-related challenges.
She emphasized that FMC Jalingo remains ready and willing to provide quality medical services and to work with the state government to improve healthcare delivery across Taraba State.
