First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Partners Traditional Rulers in Taraba to Combat HIV/AIDS

The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has expressed her commitment to partner with traditional rulers in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Speaking during her maiden visit to Taraba State, the First Lady described traditional rulers as the custodians of the people, emphasizing their vital role in sensitizing communities.
Mrs. Tinubu noted that a nation cannot thrive without a healthy population, highlighting the importance of health awareness campaigns.
She stated that her office has been actively involved in empowerment programs since her time as the wife of the Lagos State Governor, and that those efforts would continue.

The First Lady disclosed that funds have already been transferred to the state to support ongoing initiatives and announced her intention to work closely with the Ministry of Environment to enhance waste recycling efforts.
She tasked traditional rulers to ensure that the message on HIV/AIDS awareness reaches the grassroots, reinforcing the need for collective action at all societal levels.
In his welcome address, Governor Agbu Kefas warmly received the First Lady and her delegation, expressing gratitude for the visit and support.
Also speaking during the occasion, the Aku Uka, Manu Ishaku Adda Ali, commended the First Lady’s visit, stating that it serves a meaningful purpose.
He prayed for peace and progress in Taraba State as a result of the visit.
The event was also graced by the Minister of Health, the wife of the Vice President, and First Ladies from other states.
