FIDELIS JOCKTHAN MEET THE FOUNDER ; “NUJ 3-POINT AGENDA” IN ADAMAWA STATE

Fidelis Jockthan has cut a special niche and unique place for himself in the noble pen pushing profession which he started practicing over two decades ago.

An Ace Radio Broadcast Journalist, Blogger, Prolific writer with speciality in investigative journalism, Jockthan is an all rounder in the fourth estate of realm and a square hole in a square peg.
Through hard-work, resilience and perseverance, Jockthan has over the years maintained a consistent career trajectory culminating into his elevation to an enviable rank of Senior Editor with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Fombina FM Yola. A registered member of CRIME REPORTERS ABUJA, Publisher, Newsfronteers (online blog) Bureau Chief, ECHO EXPRESS, owned by Lynn Adda, Contributor, THE GUILD, a Sokoto based tabloid, Jockthan can aptly be described as a multi-facet Journalist.
He is the founder of the campaign Concept “The Centre (infrastructural development), the system (strengthening and sanitizing Journalism Profession) and the people (Welfare of members).
Fidelis Jockthan who champions the concept in the presence of the then secretary of NUJ, Adamawa state Council, Late David Molomo of the Sun Newspapers during his first outing to contest for the post of Secretaryship in 2015 successfully added a new layer of transparency, energy and vibrancy to the NUJ campaign. Because of its relevance, the concept was adopted as a campaign strategy nationwide in NUJ Unionism.
Jockthan who started the profession from a humble beginning with the Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) as an artiste In 1997 contributed immensely to the social re-engineering of Broadcast and entertainment industry because of his captivating presentation techniques on Radio.
He worked with professionals like the then Late Athnesius Karka, Dean Peters, Luti Babuba, Captain Umar Mohammed Yusuf, Alhaji DJ,late Chris Usman Power, Donald Stephen,Late Osti Gan, etc.
He was the pioneer Chapel Chairman of NUJ FRCN Fombina FM Yola before springing to Adamawa state Executive Council of NUJ on 18th June 2019-2022.
Fidelis Jockthan was re-elected by the highest votes in the contest as secretary again from June 18th, 2022-2025.
He is the most accessible, humble, versatile Council Secretary with unparallel social and administrative dispositions.
He attended National Executive Council meeting ( NEC) the highest decision making body of NUJ in Nigeria in the following States; namely: Umuahia,Abia State, Asaba Delta State,Benin, Edo State, Lokoja, Kogi State, Abuja, FCT, Kebbi, Kebbi State, Ibadan, Oyo State, Kano, where the NUJ constitution was amended (2024) and Owerri, Imo State.
Fidelis Jockthan also attended the National Delegates Conferences that produced Comrade Waheed Osudile (July 2015) in Abuja,Chief Chris Isiguzo in Umuahia, Abia State (Oct.2018)and Alhaji Yahaya Abdullahi in Owerri, Imo State.
