FedPoly Bali Holds Workshop On Skills Development

The Institute for Skills Development and Vocational Training of the Federal Polytechnic Bali in Taraba State has conducted a 3 day Delivery Workshop for Instructors, Demonstrators, Master Artisans and craftsmen.
The Workshop which was held at the Exams Hall of the Polytechnic, commenced from Tuesday 13th to Thursday 15th May 2025.
In his welcome address, the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Bali, Dr. Mohammed Usman expressed gratitude to the NBTE, the organisers of the workshop and the resource persons for sacrificing their time and energy to educate the participants.

He therefore encouraged the participants to utilize the training and the knowledge gained for better standard of living and National economic growth.
In his goodwill message, the Registrar of the Polytechnic Mal. Tukur Mohammed Lamido, said, the workshop was organised to empower the targeted group to advance their services to humanity and enhance their livelihoods.

The Former Acting Registrar of the institution, Alhaji Umar Ibrahim Baba in a goodwill message, said the workshop was aimed at encouraging the participants to obtain certificates in their areas of skills and to learn the methods and how best to train their apprentices.

One of the Resource persons at the workshop, Engr. Dr. Ahmad M.Y. Jumba ,said, the workshop is aimed at bridging the gab between the world of Work and the world of Education and Training.
He also outlined the training methodology, presentation structure and training delivery methods among others.
In his presentation, Engr. Shehu Barde, pointed out some challenges of the Artisans and gave some tips on how to overcome the challenges through applying some strategies that will help in balancing the unfavorable situation in marketing as well as how to advance in due course.
Earlier in an address, the Coordinator ISDVT Engr. Auwal Isa Mohammed while acknowledging the dignitaries present, said, the presence of the participants signifies their commitments to continues learning and to be empowered through hands on practical knowledge.
He stressed that the workshop has been designed to enhance their skills, upgrade their technical competency and foster innovation in vocational training.
In his goodwill message, the Director, Physical Planning, Engr. Yakubu Umar Abba said, the Polytechnic Bali Entrepreneurship Development Centre offers training on Garments making, Block laying and ICT among others.
He explained that while some of the trainings last for 3 months, others last for 6 months.
He also emphasized that the participants have to enroll themselves into the program at the Polytechnic Bali Entrepreneurship Development Centre to obtain certificate at the end of the training, adding that they need the certificates to have recognition and benefit from the governments and other employers of labour depending on the opportunities available.
