FedPoly Bali: Career Service Centre Holds Workshop On Students Future

The Career Service Directorate of the Federal Polytechnic Bali in Taraba State has concluded a three-day capacity-building workshop for NDII and HNDII students of the institution.
With the themed “Explore Your Path, Build Your Future, and Empower Your Professional Journey”, the programme was held at Lecture Theatre II of the Polytechnic.
The aim of the workshop was to equip students with practical skills, industry knowledge and personal development strategies for career success.
Declaring the workshop open, the Rector of the institution, Dr. Mohammed Usman, who was represented by the Deputy Rector, Engr. Sani Abubakar, commended the initiative, describing it as a vital step in shaping the professional future of students.

He charged the participants to pay rapt attention to the training and use the experiences to prepare for their future.
Across the three days, resource persons delivered insightful lectures covering technology, innovation, soft skills, industry relevance, problem-solving, mentorship, and lifelong learning.
Mr. Ibiyemi Joseph who spoke on Utilizing Technology and Innovation in Education to Prepare for the Future, stressed the role of emerging tools in enhancing career readiness.
On her part, Dr. (Mrs.) Florence O. Nnaji dwelt on Soft Skills Competency Needs of Polytechnic Students in the New Normal, emphasising the importance of interpersonal and adaptability skills in the post-pandemic workplace.

In his presentation, Dr. Mohammed Abubakar Clarkson discussed on Integrating Practical Skills and Industry-Relevant Knowledge in Education, calling for stronger links between academic learning and workplace demands.
Dr. Hamzat Hamish Yakubu took the participants on Fostering Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Abilities for Future Challenges, highlighting analytical thinking as a top employer requirement.
Dr. Sani Abdullahi addressed the students on Mentorship and Career Guidance, outlining the mentor-mentee relationship as a bridge between academic and professional life.
In his paper, Mr. Adamu Abdullahi Dodo focused on Encouraging Lifelong Learning and Adaptability in a Rapidly Changing World, encouraging students to embrace continuous learning.
The event was marked by active students participation, with discussions on applying the lessons to academic and professional pursuits.
In his remarks, the Director of the Career Service Centre, Mallam Muktar Sanusi, appreciated the Rector’s support and acknowledged TETFUND for establishing the Centre.

Declare the workshop closed, the Rector, represented by the Deputy Rector, commended the organisers and urged students to apply the knowledge gained for future benefits.
