Expect a five-Star Hotel under Kefas – Nyame tells Tarabans

Former Taraba State Governor, Rev. Jolly Tavoro Nyame has encouraged Taraba people to support the administration of the State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas to succeed saying Kefas will build the State.

Rev. Nyame spoke while delivering a goodwill message on the occasion of the Civic Reception organized in honour of Dr. Kefas by the people of Southern Taraba.
The event held Saturday at Government Secondary School, Ibi Road, Wukari of Wukari Local Government Area of the State, Rev. Nyame informed the gathering that a friend of his, resident in the United States of America (USA) has promised to partner with the state government to construct a Five (5) Star Hotel in Jalingo, the State capital.

Attributing the promise to the Governor’s vision of transforming the State, one of which according to him was the Taraba International Investment Summit (TARAVEST) recently held in the state by the Governor, where the State was opened for investors.
“Your Excellency, with this Taraba International Investment Summit (Taravest), you did recently and I was part of it, I have one information for you and the people of Taraba State.
“A friend of mine from America said he wants to invest in Jalingo. He wants to build a five (5)-star hotel during your own time. He will start constructing the hotel during your time and he will also finish it during your time”, said Nyame.
The former Governor further advised the Governor to be investment friendly, stressing that Investors will come because he has opened the State for them.
“I call on the people of Taraba to join hands with Kefas, he has good intentions, he’s going to help us, he’s going to build Taraba State but he cannot build Taraba State alone, we have to join hands with him”,
“Governor Kefas, expect influx of Investors in the State because you have opened the State for them to come”,
“And Kefas Agbu, simply called, Dantala, he’s a symbol of unity, let’s join hands with him”.
In his vote of thanks, Governor Kefas lauded the sportsmanship of the organizers saying the event was a forum to unite the people.
While thanking the Aku Uka of Wukari, His Majesty, Dr. Ishaku Adda Ali, all the traditional rulers from the Southern Taraba and all those who made the event a success, Kefas said the event was not just a celebration of a person but a moment of unity and a moment of collective purpose.
“I come before you not just as your Governor but as a son of this soil”,
“For these two years, I have listened to concerns but I want to tell you that leadership is not about applause. Leadership is about service, sacrifice and courage”, he said.

He however, mentioned few of the achievements he recorded for the past years even before he assumed office as Governor. They were; Restoration of peace at Wukari, restoration of dignity at Wukari traditional institution, introduction of free and compulsory education for every child in Taraba, among others.
The Governor, who pledged that infrastructural development like access roads, water, among others that the people are expecting will come added that true development is not rushed.

Earlier in a remark, the chairman of the planning Committee, Chief John Mamman said the purpose of the gathering was to honour their illustrious son, the Governor of the State, Dr. Agbu Kefas.
Chief Mamman also disclosed that the event honouring Governor Kefas was the brain child of the Royal Fathers from the Southern Taraba, who he mentioned as His Majesty, Dr. Ishaku Adda Ali, the Aku Uka, HRM, Ambassador Sanvala Shimbura JP, the Gara Donga and HRM, Barr. Sopiya Ahmadu Gboshi III, Chief of Takum.
The above mentioned Monarchs from the zone among other stakeholders saw the need to come together to appreciate God for making their son, Dr. Kefas as the Governor of the State.
