Excursion: FedPoly Bali Students Visit TV Taraba, TSBS, Others

The students of the Electrical Electronics Engineering department of the Federal Polytechnic, Bali in Taraba State have visited some organizations in Jalingo, the state capital on a one day Excursion.

Agencies visited were the Taraba Television Corporation, Taraba State Broadcasting Service, TSBS, the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA and the 132/33kv Jalingo Work Centre (JWC).
At the Jalingo Work Centre housing the 132/33KVA power transmission facilities, the students were conducted round by Engr Dauda Iliya.

Alongside other staff of the Centre, he explained the uses of different heavy electronic gadgets at Jalingo Work Centre.

He said the grounding transformer has network points, providing auxiliary supply of voltage to the distribution stations.

At the Taraba State Broadcasting Service Jalingo, the Assistant Director Technical services, Engr. Roland Rimamskep explained the uses of the Sound Mixer, which brings different sounds, combines and amplifies among other uses.

He practically demonstrated the process by recording their voices through the Dynamic Mic and Influencer Mic that adjusts voices and transmit to the listeners among others.
At Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Engr. Boshi Rinyiputeen Bakari and Engr. Mohammed Abdullahi took the students round the control room, explaining the uses of the Decoder, Transmitter and the wireless Router among others.


At Taraba Television (TTV), the students were guided by the Deputy Director Engineering Department, Engr. Tanko Rikin who exposed them to different sections such as programmes, Transmitter and Editing Suite among others, explaining how each of them operates.

Earlier, the Head of Department of Electrical Electronics Engineering of the Federal Polytechnic, Bali Engr. Buhari M. Buhari had said, the essence of the Excursion was to let the Students have practical experience and observe the various operations in reality.

It was also to expose them to the places visited for the purpose of industrial training and knowledge gaining to assist them on job opportunities and self reliance.

Engr. Buhari also used the medium to appeal to the Polytechnic authority to sponsor students for excursions as some of them pass through challenges to pay for their transportation and feeding.
