By Alexander Akumaior

Youth in Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State have been encouraged to to engage in profitable businesses that would improve their well-being.

Godwin John

The Youth Coordinator, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN Bali Local Government Area Chapter, Godwin John gave the encouragement while speaking in an interview with our correspondent in Bali.

He said the white collar jobs in the country is no longer feasible, hence the need for youth in the area to adopt Agriculture and other ventures that would make them self reliant.

Godwin John said following the economic challenges facing the country, there is the need for people to explore other meaningful initiatives that would attract profits rather than depending sorely on Government jobs.

He encouraged farmers to be careful in selling out their farm produce, adding that the drought experienced this year has affected crop production and reminded farmers to preserve their farm produce to avoid unnecessary food shortages especially now that the economy is biting harder.

The CAN Youth Coordinator equally challenged Christians who are overzealous in spending during Christmas and New year celebrations to be cautious to avoid challenges after the festive period.

Godwin John who is also Mfe Gande Ikyese u Tiv Taraba, a Tiv traditional title, implored the Tiv Community in Taraba State to promote peace and unity among themselves and other ethnic groups, describing peace as the only pillar for any meaningful development.

He commended Governor Agbu Kefas for prioritising security and education in the state and called on the people particularly the Tiv community to take the advantage of the initiatives by enrolling their children in schools.
