A paramount ruler of the Muri Emirate Council in Taraba State Northeast Nigeria, the Emir of Muri , HRH Abbas Njida Tafida has admonished the people of the State especially the Muslim Ummah to live lives of sacrifice as done by father Abraham of old.

The Emir of Muri gave the charge on Friday while delivering his 2025 Eid-el Kabir message to the Muslim Ummah at his Palace in Jalingo, the State capital.
The traditional ruler said it is imperative for leaders at all levels to follow the footsteps of father Abraham who according to him was obedient to Allah and went ahead to sacrifice his only son.
He further urged leaders to rule their people with the fear of the Almighty Allah, noting that adherence to the teachings and sacrifices of Abraham would enable them to lead their people well.
The Emir of Muri also warned traditional rulers and stakeholders across the State who he pointed out engage in indiscriminate sale of government land and other properties, saying they should desist from the act or wait for the wrath of the Almighty Allah.
He emphasized that unavoidable judgement of God awaits corrupt and wicked leaders, saying they will appear on judgment day before their creator.
According to the Monarch, Nigerians should not have been crying of poverty but noted that the poverty that is presently bedeviling the affairs of the citizenry is as a result of corruption and mismanagement of the nation’s resources.
‘The menace has plunged Nigerian youths into all forms criminality”, he said.
He also emphasized the need for peaceful co-exesitence among Muslims and other religions for development to thrive not only in Taraba but other states of the federation.
The Royal father however, called on the people of the State to support the administration of the State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas for him to succeed.
He expressed dismay over the issue of fighting one another, adding that such would not help the State to develop.
“Only dialogue and sacrifice of personal comfort will bring unity and harmony among Nigerians irrespective of ethnicity, political affiliation and religion’, he added.
Our Correspondent gathered that the 2025 Eid-el Kabir (sallah) celebration in the State was peaceful as Muslim faithful were seen exchanging pleasantries with both Muslim and adherents of other religions.
