EBPL: Liverpool FC Crowned Champions

Liverpool FC had been crowned the Champions of the English Barclays Premier League with four more matches to go for the season.
Liverpool FC attained this feat in grand style as they demolished Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 in front of their supporters at Anfield stadium to be crowned Champion for the 20th time in the club’s history, equalling Manchester United’s record.
With Liverpool FC running away with the title and a guaranteed place in next year’s Champions League, the battle now shifts to the remaining four teams which will join Liverpool FC in the UEFA biggest tournament.
Arsenal FC, currently in the second position, are sure to qualify in the top five positions and a place in the competition, but must strive to avoid any slip with the remaining four matches to go for the season.
Chelsea and Newcastle United capitalised on Manchester City, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa’s involvement in the FA Cup and dispatched their weekend opponents to grab the three points at stake, thereby boosting their chances in the league table.
Chelsea beat Everton 1-0 at Stamford Bridge Stadium while Newcastle United defeated Ipswich Town 3-0, a result which relegated Ipswich Town back to the Championship.
Wolves solidified their place in the Premier League next season with a comfortable 3-0 win against relegated Leicester City, while Brighton and Hove Albion boosted their chances for European football with a hard-fought 3-2 win against West Ham as Southampton suffered a 2-1 loss to Fulham.
Manchester United snatched a late equalizer against AFC Bournemouth and will now shift their attention to the encounter with Athletic Bilbao in the semi-final first leg of the Europa League, a tournament the Red Devils are seeking to win to secure a place in next season’s Champions League.
In the Italian Serie A, there is a change of baton as Napoli have toppled Inter Milan on top of the league table following a 2-0 win against Torino, Inter Milan which shifted their attention to the first leg of the semi-final match against FC Barcelona suffered 1–0 loss to AS Roma at the San Siro stadium.
Cesc Fabregas continued to impress with his Como side as he inflicted a 1-0 pain on another Arsenal legend, Patrick Viera’s Genoa, while Venezia lost 2-0 to AC Milan. Juventus also defeated AC Monza 2-0.
In the German Bundesliga, Bayern Munich tighten their grip on top of the league with a comfortable 3-0 win over Mainz 05, while their closet rivals Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-0 win against FC Augsburg will delay Bayern Munich being crowned Champion till next week.
Hoffenheim lost 3-2 to Borussia Dortmund as Holstein Kiel beat Borussia Monchengladbachh 4-,3, while Eintrachtcht Frankfurt better their chances for a Champions League place with a 4-0 demolition of RB Leipzig.
In the El-Clasico Copa Del Rey final in Sevilla, FC Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 3-2 to lift the trophy for the 32nd time, with goals from Pedri, Ferran Torres and Jules Kounde for FC Barcelona and Kylian Mbappe and Aurelien Tchouameni for Real Madrid while in the English FA Cup Crystal Palace defeated Aston Villa 3-0 to book a final with Manchester City which defeated Nottingham Forest 2-0
