EBPL: Arsenal Faces Tottenham Hotspur

By Tanko Bauka

The English Barclays Premier League is set to resume on Tuesday with a mouth-watering encounter between Arsenal and their arch-rival Tottenham Hotspur in the London derby at the Emirates Stadium and Nottingham Forest against Liverpool FC.

In the first leg encounter, Arsenal pipped Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in a pulsating match at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium through Gabriel’s headed goal to hand the three points at stake to the Gunners.

Both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur will be going into this match with inconsistent results, failing to perform to their credentials, but this match is an opportunity for each team to put their campaign in the right gear as they play catch up with Liverpool.

Nottingham Forest, on the other hand, will want to continue their momentum as they host the league leader, Liverpool.

Nottingham Forest remain the only team that have defeated Liverpool with a hard-fought 1-0 win so far in the ongoing football season, though Liverpool hold a five-point lead with an outstanding match against Everton, the Arne Slot boys cannot afford any slip as Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Chelsea and the resurgent Manchester City are on their prowl.

Manchester City will travel away from Etihad to take on Brentford at G-tech stadium while Chelsea welcome high flying AFC Bournemouth to Stanford bridge stadium.

Newly appointed Graham Porter and his West Ham entertain Fulham in another London derby as David Moyes’ second spell at Everton begins with an encounter with Aston Villa with slightly improved Manchester United slugging it out with relegation-bound Southampton at Old Trafford.

In the Italian Serie A, Cesc Fabregas Como entertain AC Milan while Atalanta take on inconsistent Juventus as Inter Milan host Bologna in their rescheduled match following their involvement in the Coppa Italia.

In the German Bundesliga, Holstein Kiel hosts Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Leverkusen faces off with Mainz 05 Eintracht Frankfurt welcoming SC Freiburg, while Wolfsburg ambushes Bayern Monchengladbach for the three points at stake.

Bayern Munich will be at Allianz Arena to tackle Hoffenheim while Stuttgart battle it out with RB Leipzig.
