Dr Giwa Assumes Duty As New Taraba ACReSAL Project Coordinator

Dr Clement Yakubu Giwa has assumed duty as the State Project Coordinator of the Taraba State Agro Climatic Resilience in Semi Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL).
The appointment of the New Project Coordinator marked a significant development in the state’s efforts to tackle land degradation and climate change through the ACReSAL project.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony, the Taraba State Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Haj.Aishatu Abdul-azeez Barde, commended the performance of the out-going Acting Project Coordinator, Alhaji Dahiru Umar for achieving a lot within a short period of time.
While welcoming the substantive State Project Coordinator, Dr Clement Yakubu Giwa, the Commissioner charged him to carry out his duties diligently so that Taraba ACReSAL will witness a new phase under his leadership.
The outgoing Acting Project Coordinator, Alhaji Dahiru Umar while handing over the position to his successor, expressed joy, saying he is handing over in good faith.
He therefore charged the team to give maximum support and cooperation to the new Project Coordinator for the project to achieve its goals in Taraba State.
Responding, the new Project Coordinator, Dr Clement Yakubu Giwa, pleaded for support from all members of the team, assuring them that he will carry everybody along in his leadership.
“I stand before you. deeply touched and inspired by your generous words of congratulations and encouragement. With boundless gratitude for the confidence placed in me by the State Government, and with an unwavering resolve to honour that trust. I humbly accept the appointment as the Project Coordinator of this great organization, our ACReSAL.
“As we embark on this journey, I want to reaffirm our unwavering commitment to excellence. Our mandate is clear: to restore our landscapes. fight desertification, and build climate resilience. We will approach this with dedication and diligence. ensuring that
every step we take positively impacts the communities we serve.
“In delivering on this mandate. we shall ensure that relevant MDAs, NGOs, LGAS, community leaders. schools and religious institutions are involved in tree planting and adoption within their spheres of operations as no one would be left behind”.
In a good will message, the Taraba State Commissioner for Water Resources and Aquatic Affairs, Hon Daniel Ishaku called on all staff to begin the new era in the spirit of unity and dedication to achieve set goals.
Dr. Yakubu Giwa Clement, who hails from Takum Local Government Area in Taraba State is a distinguished scholar, environmentalist, developmentalist and policy expert.
Highlights of the event include presentation of a vehicle to the new Project Coordinator and the launching of other operational vehicles.
