Death Snatches Bauchi Gov’s official MC

It was a sad moment for the Government of Bauchi State and Journalists in the state following the shocking death of the official Master of Ceremony to Governor Bala Mohammed in major events outside the Government House, Alhaji Abubakar Jafaru Ilela.

Jafaru Ilela who was appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Bala Mohammad on Public Enlightenment two months ago after his retirement from the public service, anchored his last official function at the renovation and upgrading of the State Assembly complex last Tuesday before he died same day evening.
Already the Bauchi State Government has condoled the deceased family over the sudden and painful demise of Alhaji Abubakar Jafar Ilelah, the Wakilin Sadarwan Bauchi, who passed away after a brief illness.
He was a respected Public Relations icon, a grassroots mobilizer and dedicated public servant whose contributions to the development of Bauchi State, particularly in community engagement and enlightenment, will surely be remembered.
In a message of condolence, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, on behalf of his family, the government, and the good people of Bauchi State, expressed profound sadness and his deepest commiseration over this great loss.
He described the late Wakilin Sadarwan Bauchi as a committed patriot, a man of honour, and a bridge-builder whose wisdom and service will be sorely missed.
The Governor prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul and prayed that Almighty Allah will grant his family, the Ilelah clan, the Bauchi Emirate Council, the Media family and the entire people of Bauchi State the fortitude to bear the loss.
In another development, the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Baúchi State Council has described the death of Jafaru as a disturbing one that touches every journalist in the state, considering his simplicity, a friendly person that knows his job.
The remains of Alhaji Abubakar Jafar Ilelah has been laid to rest after the funeral prayers attended by thousands of sympathisers including the Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Auwal Jatau, Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Jamilu Umar Dahiru and Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu.
