Come back home to develop your State – Faransa begs Tarabans

The Chairman of the Taraba State Internal Revenue Service (TIRS), Brigadier General Jeremiah Aliyu Faransa (Rtd) has made a passionate appeal to Taraba State indigenes in the diaspora to come back home and join hands with Governor Agbu Kefas to develop the State.

Faransa, made the appeal weekend during an interactive session with Journalists in Jalingo the state capital.
Our Correspondent gathered that Aliyu Faransa’s session with the media was attributed to his joyful State of mind, celebrating his 61st birthday in his residence at Lasandi Jalingo the State capital.
“I urge all Tarabans, no matter where they are to think home, because they have no other state except Taraba”,
“I want all of us to join hands with Governor Kefas, it is a collective responsibility of all people from Taraba State to ensure that our dear State stands the test of time like other states in the Federation”, he said.
Faransa said he joined the Army because of passion and served it with full commitment and dedication.
According to him, he had already taken a decision that at retirement age, he would come back home and face farming, describing it as what he inherited from his parents.
“In the course of that, His Excellency, Governor Kefas who happens to be a colleague and brother heard about my retirement, he told me to come back home, let’s build a new Taraba”,
“And when I honoured his invitation, he welcomed me with appointments. I am not the only retired General in Taraba, there are more than 25 retired Generals in the State, and by the special grace of God, things will change in Taraba State”, he assured.
Coming back to the reasons behind his celebration, the retired Brigadier General said, to attain the age of 61, it takes the grace of God.
“I joined the Army at the age of 28, we went for training, about 107 passed out, out of the 107 that passed out, 36 have died”,
“Only this year, 2024, 4 of my Course mates have died, I have gone through difficult assignments in my life but God in His infinite mercies saw me through”,
“I entered the Army without a scratch on my body and I came back without a scratch on my body”,
“That alone worths thanking God for seeing me today being 61 years of age on this planet earth”,
Faransa, who doubles as the Chairman, Taraba State Task Force on Environmental Protection, Public Safety and Deforestation further described Governor Kefas as a man highly committed to the course of Taraba State.
He said he is an indigene of Kuka Kundi community of Karim Lamido Local Government Area of the State.

Married with children, he explained that he has the passion to help the needy, support to community development and had sponsored youths in their educational pursuits.
The residence of the retired general was filled to capacity with personalities who came from all walks of life to celebrate with him and family.
