City Boy Movement Vows Grassroots Mobilisation for Taraba Gov Following Defection to APC

The City Boy Movement in Taraba State has pledged full mobilisation and political support for Governor Agbu Kefas following his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The group, led by Hon. Prince Sanusi Galadima, said it has aligned completely with the APC project in the state and is prepared to energise the grassroots and youth population ahead of future political engagements.
In a statement issued in Jalingo, the movement described Governor Kefas’ entry into the APC as a defining political moment for Taraba State, pledging to work actively to consolidate the party’s presence across the state.
“The City Boy Movement in Taraba State hereby declares its total commitment to the APC project. We stand ready to mobilise the grassroots, energise the youth, and defend progressive governance at all levels,” the statement read.
The group also congratulated the APC leadership and residents of Taraba State for what it described as an unprecedented show of unity and political maturity during the reception organised to welcome Governor Kefas into the party.
According to the movement, the massive turnout at the event signified more than a formal ceremony, but a clear political statement by the people of Taraba in favour of alignment with the ruling party at the centre.
“What Taraba witnessed was not just a ceremony. It was a declaration of intent—progress over stagnation, unity over division, and hope over hesitation,” the statement added.
The City Boy Movement further commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it called courageous and visionary leadership, noting that the APC under his administration has become a more inclusive and attractive political platform.
The group also acknowledged the role of the APC national leadership, led by Prof. Nentawe Yilwada, in strengthening the party’s structure nationwide.
It said Governor Kefas’ defection to the APC signals the beginning of a new political era for Taraba State, with expectations of stronger federal presence, accelerated development, expanded economic opportunities, and improved delivery of democratic dividends.
