Christmas: Taraba Gov Celebrates With Orphans

In his usual display of compassion and humility, the Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, marked this year’s Christmas by celebrating with vulnerable children at the Mfanyima and Success Orphanage located around the Rice Mill and Pwadzu areas of Wukari, his home town, which is the headquarters of Wukari Local Government Area of the state.
During his visit to the orphanages, the Governor donated cash, food, non-food items and essential toiletries to the children, spreading joy and love, which is the hallmark of the festive season.
Dr. Kefas reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the orphanages with vital and basic necessities of life, including healthcare, education, and decent accommodation, to ensure the well-being and future of the children.
“I will intervene to give them hope for their future.”
In her remarks, the founder of Mfanyima Orphanage Foundation, Mrs. Wakasa Agbukinda, expressed gratitude for the governor’s visit, noting his deep passion for humanity.
“Your Excellency’s presence here brings hope to these children. They pray for you daily, and we thank you for your vision for the future of children in Taraba State.”
At the Success Orphanage in Pwadzu, Dr. Kefas extended his heartfelt support and care to the children, underscoring his dedication to their welfare.
The Governor’s compassion further took him to the Aku Uka Palace, where he celebrated with the children of the community. Addressing the gathering, Dr Agbu kefas said he has great concern for the future of children.
He also pledged to visit more communities across the state in the coming year to address the challenges faced by vulnerable and orphaned children.
Dr. Kefas ended the Christmas day celebrations with a modest dinner at the Wukari Governor’s Lodge, sharing the evening with friends, former primary and secondary schoolmates, as well as youths and women.
