Choice of Danlami as our Rector heal our wounds – Taraba Poly Community tells Gov Kefas

The Taraba Polytechnic Community on Thursday said Governor Kefas has healed their wounds for appointing Dr Amos Danlami Agbu as the new Rector of the polytechnic.

The Director of works and Physical Planning, Arc Samuel Adishaya while speaking to journalists in his office in Jalingo over the appointment of the new head of the institution, expressed happiness that governor Kefas demonstrated his love for the polytechnic for giving them the choice they have been yearning for.
“We thank the for governor for giving us Dr Amos Danlami Agbu, before the confirmation of his appointment, he acted for some months, we were able to see things he was able to do, his leadership style is second to none.
The current steady and uninterrupted growth in the Polytechnic under his leadership has boosted the economic activities of the polytechnic and the host communities” he said.
He informed that his efforts to transform the institution led to the recent visit of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) team on resources inspection exercise.
“The NBTE team through his effort gave approval for entering accreditation of eleven courses, and when we add the eleven approved courses with the old ones, the polytechnic now run seventeen courses all together” he noted.
Adishaya who appreciated governor Kefas, the house of assembly Committee on education and the state ministry of education for their tirelessly support, maintained that the Rector and staff of institution would continue to key into governor Kefas dream to ensure that every household in the state has access to quality education.
“We will always adhere to governor Kefas directive on the reduction of 50% tuition fees which served as a palliative to parents in the state” he added.
On her part, a staff of the institution, Mrs Fumi B Mery Daramola hinted that the new Rector while serving on acting capacity did well to change the narrative of the polytechnic.
“He really did well when he was acting, and now that his confirmed, he will do more for us. He is someone who built quality relationships with both staff and students, he has been so nice to us all” she stressed.
Also, the Deputy Rector Academic, Mr Peter Paul Nutai said lecturers in the institution are very happy for the governor to have appointed one of them to serve as the head of the institution.
He stressed that the new Rector is someone that both staff and students look up to in terms of character, behaviour and fatherly advise.
“No doubt, the transformation we are currently witnessing under Dr Danlami Amos Agbu is something very awesome because before now they were a lot of grappling with the polytechnic Community and we thanked the ministry of education to have played an important role to clear the path for the new Rector rector” he informed.
Furthermore, a Principal Lecturer and the Head of ICT, Kamaru Aliyu Babado commended Governor Kefas over his policies on education in the state.
He highlighted that within one year of his administration, sons and daughters of the state have felt the impact of his government.
He urged staff of the institution to unite and work to achieve a common goal for the rapid transformation of the polytechnic.
