Chelsea and Arsenal share points in a pulsating encounter

The much-anticipated clash between Chelsea and Arsenal could not produce a winner as both teams played out a one-all draw to share the points.
Although Chelsea would be happier than Arsenal with the one-all draw because the Blues, as Chelsea is popularly known, ended the match with ten men following the sending off of Moise Caceido in the first half of the encounter.
The match generated a lot of hype because, apart from being a London Derby, Chelsea had not beaten Arsenal since 2018 at Stamford Bridge stadium, and both teams were occupying the first and second positions in the league table.
Chelsea being the home team started the match brightly trying to build on the success recorded against FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champion League where they defeated the Catalan team 3-0 but they find the Gunners a hard nut to crack as the Mikel Arteta boys also in a blistering form having dispatch the undefeated Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champion League and are missing many of their top players due to injuries could not penetrate nor break down the ten men of Chelsea which seems to be growing from strength to strength.
Chalobah drew the first blow when he nodded in a well-taken corner kick to raise the roof of the Stadium, but their joy was cut short as Mikel Moreno cancelled out Chalobah’s goal, nodding in from a cross by Arsenal Captain Bukayo Saka.
At the end of the match, Arsenal still lead the pack with five points ahead of Manchester City, which has leapfrogged Chelsea to the second position, and still leads Chelsea in third position with six points.
Manchester United, on the other hand, finally overcame one team that has always constituted a nuisance to them in the form of Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park Stadium in London, as the Ruben Amorim boys came from a goal down to win 2-1 in a very difficult ground over the years for the Red Devils.
Liverpool FC also recorded an emphatic victory against West Ham United at the Olympic Stadium to ease the enormous pressure on the head coach, Arne Slot, while Tottenham Hotspur were humbled 2-1 by Fulham in yet another disappointing result at home.
Sunderland put behind them the painful 1-0 loss to Fulham last weekend as they collected all the three points at stake against AFC Bournamount with a 3-2 win while Newcastle United gave Eddie Howe a delectable birthday gift as they finally pick up their first away win with a resounding 4-1 bashing of Everton as it was the same old story for Wolves which are yet to win a single match this season as they lost again 1-0 to Unai Emery Aston Villa at the Villa Park to remain rooted to the bottom of the league table.
Brighton and Hove Albion defeated Nottingham Forest 2-0, with Brentford also dispatching Burnley 3-1 in a pulsating encounter.
In the Spanish La Liga, FC Barcelona has overtaken Real Madrid at the top of the league table, with 32 points to Real Madrid’s 31 points.
FC Barcelona had defeated Deportivo Alaves 3-1 while Real Madrid could only manage a one-all draw with Girona to hand over the league summit back to the defending Champion.
Real Sociedad fell 3-2 to the firepower of Villarreal at home, while Atletico Madrid continued their impressive form with a comfortable 2-0 win against Real Oviedo, as Sevilla suffered a 2-0 loss to Real Betis, with Mallorca playing out a two-all draw with Osasuna.
Celta Vigo defeated Espanyol 1-0, while Levante lost 2-0 to Athletic Bilbao.
In the Italian Serie A, AC Milan had also dethroned AS Roma at the top of the league table with a 1-0 defeat of Lazio, while AS Roma lost 1-0 to the reigning and defending Champion Napoli.
Inter Milan put aside the pain of losing to their arch-rival AC Milan in the Milan Derby as they defeated Pisa SC 2-0, with Atalanta also winning 2-0 against Fiorentina.
Juventus pick up all three points against Cagliari as they continue to rebuild following a poor run of results, while Hellas Verona were beaten 2-0 by Genoa, with Cesc Fabregas’s Como comfortably beaten, struggling Sassuolo 2-0.
In the German Bundesliga, Bayern Monchenglabach could only manage a goalless draw with RB Leipzig while Bayern Munich survived an early scare against FC St Pauli to win 3-1 as Bayer Leverkusen were humbled 2-1 by Borussia Dortmund while Hoffenheim defeated FC Augsburg 3-0
Union Berlin were beaten 2-1 by Heidenheim as Cologne held Werder Bremen to a 1 1 draw.
