Chairman Lobi Stars FC, Visits former NFA ESG, in Bauchi Seeks Support of Wikki Tourists, Wunti, Zabgai, Others For Success

In his determination to reaffirming Football’s enduring bonds, the Chairman of Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi, Benue State, Dr. Philip Nongu, has paid homage to former NFA Secretary General (now NFF), Alhaji Sani Ahmed Toro, at his Bauchi residence.
Dr. Nongu informed the former Executive Secretary General of Nigeria glass house ” that he and his here with my team were in Bauchi to formally inform him that Lobi Stars fc of Makurdi in Benue State has temporarily chosen Bauchi as its home ground in continuation of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier League as a result of the ongoing renovation at the Makurdi stadium and his recent appointment as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Creativity.
In his response, the former ESG Sani Ahmed Toro, expressed delight and gratitude to God for reuniting with an old friend and described Dr. Nongu as one of the best Spots administrators in the Country considering his experience and leadership qualities all along.
“You have paid your dues in football administration, understand its intricacies, and have what it takes to succeed. I have no doubt in your leadership quality, you are equal to the task and i pray for your success. If history is anything to go by, Bauchi is Lobi Stars’ home.” Toro said.
Our Correspondent in Bauchí, recalled that the respected icon of Nigerian football, Alhaji Ahmed Toro, played a pivotal role in the Super Eagles’ golden era, including the 1994 AFCON victory and Nigeria’s first FIFA World Cup appearance.
Dr. Nongu also paid a courtesy visit to Rt. Hon. Sani Zubairu Gwaba FIFA, President, Nigeria Referees Association, towards strengthening football’s network.
Dr.Nongu use the opportunity to extend greetings to the good sports loving People of Bauchí State and seek support of the good Management and supporters of Wikki Tourists fc, Wunti Fc, Zabgai international fc and other football teams in the state to ensure the success of Lobi Stars matches in Bauchi.
