Celebrating Excellence: Bauchi Journalists Shine At SWAN @ 60 Awards

Two veteran sports journalists from Bauchi State, Umar Saidu and Usman Abbas Shehu, have been nominated for the prestigious SWAN @ 60 Veteran Sports Journalists Award.
The nominees Umar Sa’idu was a former National Deputy President of SWAN now Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Bauchi State Council while Usman Abbas Shehu served as National Auditor for six years and now serving as National Ex-Officio.
Their nomination represent a powerful acknowledgment of years of commitment, integrity, and excellence in sports reporting – qualities that have made them respected voices within and beyond the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).
A statement signed by the Chairman of SWAN, Bauchi State Chapter, Bala Bawaji said the association commended the nominees and expressed confidence that their recognition will continue to inspire a culture of dedication and excellence among sports writers nationwide.

Bawaji said for the Bauchi State Chapter of SWAN, the achievement of its members is both a moment of pride and a reminder of the state’s growing influence in Nigerian sports journalism.
The association hailed the duo’s contributions as a guiding light for emerging journalists who aspire to uphold the same standards of professionalism.
