BWATIYE NATION CALLS FOR ARREST OF SHEIKH SALIHU A. A.IMAM FOR DENIGRATING ADAMAWA GOVERNOR, MONARCHS

The umbrella body of Bwatiye race Worldwide, Pene-Da-Bwatiye, has called on the Department of State Security Services, the Nigeria Police Force, Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice as well as the Attorneys General of Adamawa and Bauchi States to as a matter of urgency, arrest Sheikh Salihu A.A.Iman over an alleged video clip trending on the social media where he denigrated the Governor of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the Paramount Rulers of Bwatiye nation, Homun Gladson Alhamdu Teneke and Homun Dr.Daniel Shaga Ismaila,CON over passing into law, the District Creation Law of 2024.
The Law as claimed by the said Cleric was meant to reduce the powers of the Lamido of Adamawa.
The Bwatiye race significantly occupied about nine local government areas in Adamawa state including Cameroun Republic and part of Chad with two First class Traditional Rulers, Hama Bachama, Dr.Daniel Shagah Ismaila CON (kpawo nomwe,Gilongo Diya) and Hama Batta, Homun Gladson Alhamdu Teneke JP (Diyo Shifoto,Kpangashiye).
In a high-powered press conference convened by the body in Yola, the Adamawa state Capital, the President of the Socio-cultural movement, Chief James Dickson Iliya said the actions of Sheikh Salihu which is unworthy of a clergy and unacceptable may pose security threat not only to Adamawa state but the entire nation.
“Simply because the Governor in response to the yearnings of the people of Adamawa state, passed into law, the District Creation Law 2024, which the said Sheikh Salihu believed was meant to reduce the powers of Lamido Adamawa. The said Cleric was seen in a Video clip that has gone viral in the social media”.
The body demanded that; the Sheikh be put under permanent security scrutiny in order to restrain him from further utterances that are likely to breach the peace that took much effort to achieved, adding that he should equally be restrained from movements as well as be investigated to identify his accomplices and sponsors for prosecution.
“Sheikh Salihu A.A.Iman should be made to retract and withdraw unconditionally the seditious, offensive, vexatious and highly provocative utterances which he unleashed on the social media platforms. He should restrain forthwith from further acts that are capable of of causing a breakdown of law and order in Adamawa, Bauchi States and Nigeria which enjoyed progressive peace and tranquility since the leaderships of His Excellency, Rt.Hon.Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and His Excellency,(Senator) Bala Mohammed took effect in Adamawa state Bauchi States”.
The president who was flanked by his EXCOS warned the Cleric to tread carefully”lest he rekindles embers of a conflict that would be disastrous for all parties involved as his inflammatory rhetoric and actions are a recipe for chaos and destruction”.
Recalled that;
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State in a world press conference had before Christmas celebration announced the creation of seven new chiefdoms and emirates in the state.
The new chiefdoms and emirates include: the Huba Chiefdom with headquarters in Hong, with a Second-Class status, Madagali Chiefdom with headquarters in Gulak, with a Second-Class status, Michika Chiefdom with headquarters in Michika, with a Second-Class status, Fufore Emirate with headquarters in Fufore, with a Second-Class status, Gombi Chiefdom with headquarters in Gombi, with a Third-Class status, Yungur Chiefdom with headquarters in Dumne, with a Third-Class status, and Maiha Emirate with headquarters in Maiha, with a Third-Class status.
This joyous development in the eyes of ethnic nationalities was proceeded by creation of additional 83 Districts in the state.
The Gongola People’s Forum, an umbrella body of socio-cultural groups that covered the defunct Gongola State commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for expanding the traditional institutions in the state as such will bring government closer to the citizens.
