BSN: Taraba NUJ Chairman Inducted As Special Member

The Taraba State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Mr Mathew Eliud Jen has been decorated as a Special Member of the Bible Society of Nigeria, BSN.


Also decorated at the event held on Sunday at the EKAN Gospel House in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital was his Mrs Suzy Mathew Eliud Jen.


The ceremony was moderated by the Vice Chairman of the Bible Society of Nigeria, Taraba Area, Mr Ande Yusuf who represented the State Chairperson, Mrs Filister Musa who is also the Taraba State Commissioner for Social Justice and Re-integration.


He stressed that the Bible Society of Nigeria, BSN is an interdenominational organization whose sole responsibility is to support the production and distribution of the Bible for the propagation of the gospel of Christ.


By this special recognition, the Vice Chairman said Mr Mathew Eliud Jen will be part of the decision makers on issues regarding the Bible in the state among other entitlements.

According to him, the Taraba State Chapter has been given the task of distributing about Seven thousand copies of the Bible annually, regretting that it has not been easy to meet the target.


Mr Ande Yusuf therefore appealed to Christians in Taraba State to join the Society to speed up the distribution of Bibles to the Tarabans.


The resident Pastor of the EKAN Gospel Church, Jalingo, Pastor Ayuba Ardo Tijos and his wife later performed the symbolic decoration of Mr Mathew Eliud Jen and his wife, Suzy and presentation of a certificate.


In his remarks, Mr Mathew Eliud Jen, appreciated the Society for the recognition, promising to use his strength and resources to support the propagation of the gospel and the activities of the BSN.


While calling on Christians to register with the Society for the spread of the gospel, the NUJ Chairman said the EKAN Gospel Church will also strive to play a prominent role in the activities of the Society.

In his exhortation, the Resident Pastor of the EKAN Gospel Church, Jalingo, Pastor Ayuba Ardo Tijos who took his reading from Mark Chapter 16 Verses 1 to 8, titled his message, “You have no cause to worry”, drawing analogy from the three women who first visited the tomb of Jesus Christ.

He noted that believers have no reason to worry about the challenges of life because Christ has already taken over all problems through His death and resurrection, which is now a subject of celebration in this season.


According to him, those worrying about challenges of life are yet to accept the salvation through Christ, calling on such people to take advantage of the season.


Pastor Tijos reminded Christians to put their trust and faith in Jesus Christ no matter their level of sin, saying those who worry, don’t know the truth and cannot be set free.

” You have no cause for worry because God has already positioned people for your help “, the Pastor stressed.


There were prayers for leaders and the peace of the Taraba State and the nation, Nigeria as well song ministration.
