Borno: NEDC donates relief items to victims of insurgency, disasters

In a swift humanitarian response, the North East Development Commission, NEDC has donated relief items to victims of Boko Haram attacks in Gwoza, IDP relocation to Ashigashiya and communities affected by flooding in Chibok and Damboa LGAs of Borno State.

The relief materials were officially presented to representatives of the affected communities in a brief ceremony held at the NEDC warehouse in Maiduguri where representatives of National leaders representing the victims at the Senate and House of Representatives, received the items on behalf of their constituents.
The presentation was made by the NEDC Borno State Coordinator, Engr. Mohammed U. Watsada, on behalf of the MD/CEO, Mohammed G. Alkali.
Engr. Watsada reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to swift interventions wherever and whenever the welfare of people in the region is at stake.
Beneficiaries of the intervention, expressed appreciation for the timely support and pledged to ensure fair and transparent distribution of the items to the affected communities.
