BODY OF LATE MAMA LYDIA CHRISTIANA BELLO ARRIVES UNEME AKPAMA AHEAD OF BURIAL ON SATURDAY

The body of Late Mama Lydia Christiana Bello, the Mother of Hon Emmanuel Bello on Friday 6th August, 2025 arrived at her ancestral home in Uneme Akpama, Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, ahead of the burial on Saturday the 9th August, 2025.

The community received her body with traditional celebrations, honoring her life and legacy.

The atmosphere at her family compound was filled with joy and gratitude, reflecting on her remarkable life and the impacts she made.

During a wake-keep programme, Revd Canon F.O Alonge delivered a thought-provoking sermon, emphasizing that death is inevitable for all, regardless of status or position.
He encouraged the gathering to reflect on their lives, ensuring they are living in a way that pleases God, and to repent where necessary.

He stressed the importance of living virtuously in all aspects of life, including family, community, and work, in order to please God.
The Son of the deceased, Hon. Emmanuel Bello paid a heartfelt tribute to his mother, describing her as a hardworking woman who loved people.

He highlighted her selfless nature, calling her a mother of many people. He also shared that she had endured many challenges, which inspired her nickname “Endurance.”
Hon. Bello expressed gratitude to the community for their support during this difficult time.

Among the dignitaries that graced the programme include, the Chief of Staff Government House Administration Dr Jeji Williams, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Prof Josiah Sabo Kente, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Mr Yusuf Sanda, the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Matthew Elud Jen, Hon Musa Ahijo, Barr Samuel Adda and several friends and well wishers among others.

The Programme featured special prayers for the family, testimony and hymns rendition among others.
