“Be Peace Agents”, Taraba YOWICAN Urges Youths

By Henry Agbu

The Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), Taraba State Chapter, has joined the global community in celebrating the 2025 International Youth Day.

Mr Job Julius

In his message to mark the occasion, the Chairman of YOWICAN in Taraba State, Mr Job Julius, urged young people to embrace their role as agents of peace and development.

Speaking on this year’s theme, “Youth as Catalysts for Peace and Sustainable Development”, Mr Julius described it as a timely reminder of the unique responsibility the younger generation holds in shaping the future.

He encouraged Youths in Taraba State to always channel their energy towards fostering unity, driving innovation, and addressing societal challenges, rather than indulging in divisive tendencies, violence, and harmful activities.

The YOWICAN Chairman also charged Christian youths across Nigeria to champion peace by avoiding hate speech and shunning unproductive ventures for their common good.

According to him, true leadership begins with responsibility, while lasting progress comes when people work together beyond ethnic, religious, and political divides.

He called on young people to recommit themselves to building a society founded on unity, justice, innovation, and hope, stressing that the change everyone desires begins from within.
