Bauchi NUJ Calls for Protection of Government Projects

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Baúchi State Council has commended the present administration under Governor Bala Mohammad for executing development projects across the 20 local government areas and called on relevant authorities to safeguard developmental projects executed by the state government.

The State Chairman of the NUJ Comrade Umar Sa’idu, made the call shortly after the conclusion of the media tour across the 20 Local Government Areas in the state..
Comrade Sa’idu observed that Governor Bala Mohammed-led administration has championed the provision of critical infrastructure in both urban and rural areas as seen during the fact checking exercise by journalists under the leadership of the Commissioner of Information, Usman Shehu Usman and Adviser Media, Comrade Muhktar Gidado where he stressed the need to protect the projects from vandalization to benefit the entire communities.
The Chairman noted that journalists were taken round the 20 LGAs to see factually, government projects, describing it as commendable efforts and called for the sustenance of the exercise.
“We have seen the projects but my concern is how the authorities concerned across the 20 LGs will ensure the protection of these Giant projects against vandalization” he said
Also speaking, the State Chairman of the Bauchi Broadcasting Corporation, Alhaji Inuwa Bello highlighted the advantage of the media tour, noting that it revealed several unnoticed projects across communities in the state.
Earlier speaking, the Commissioner of Information and Communications, Usman Shehu Usman appreciated the conduct of journalists especially for their active participation in the inspection exercise.
