Bauchi Govt splashes N15m as Sallah gifts to media related organizations

The Bauchi State Government has demonstrated its appreciation for the hard work and dedication of Media related organizations in the state by donating six bulls and cash worth over N15 Million to media-related groups.

Presenting the donation yesterday on behalf of the Governor, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Comrade Muhktar Gidado said such generous gesture is aimed at ensuring the smooth conduct of the forthcoming Eid Adha celebration.
He explained that such gesture was as a result of the governor’s initiative which is a testament to his commitment to the welfare of the media related community, saying the governor’s gesture was a demonstration of his appreciation for the critical role journalists and other related organizations play in the state’s development.
Comrade Muktar Gidado explained that Journalists are the bridge between the government and the people, and their work helps to inform and educate the public on government policies and initiatives.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Bauchi state chapter represented by the Treasurer of the Council, Ɗanjuma Sarki Saleh said the gesture is a welcome development, especially during this festive period of Eid Adha.
Special Adviser later explained that the Press Crew Government House was given one Bull Cow and N1m, Social Media one Bull Cow and N1m, Kaura enlightenment group one Bull Cow and N1m, Correspondents Chapel one Bull Cow and 50,000 to each member amounting to N1.8m
Other beneficiaries are Kaura singers group that was given one Bull Cow and N1m, while NIPR ,RATTAWU and NUJ Baúchi State Council were given N100,000 each and the veteran Journalists were given N50,000 each.
